The first time I was able to buy a product and “flip” it for a profit was an old porcelain doll.
- I found it at a local yard sale, cleaned it up, and posted it on Ebay.
That doll cost me two bucks, and I sold it for forty! After that I was hooked, and was always searching for “hidden treasures” at local stores and sales, so that I could flip them for a profit online. A few weeks ago I went to an estate sale at a ritzy house just outside of town. They had a lot of elegant stuff there, at prices too rich for my blood, but in the barn I found something that caught my interest. There were thousands of dollars worth of rebar rods, double loop wire ties, and forming wire. The owners had no clue how valuable all this material was, and had earmarked it to haul to the dump! I made a cash offer on the spot for all the rebar and wire ties, and then had to race to town and rent a truck to haul it all away! After that came the hardest part of the process, because I honestly didn’t know how dense and heavy rebar rods and wire ties were. I could only move one rebar rod at a time, and it took several hours to get all the rebar and wire ties loaded into the rental truck. When the sun was setting I was still sweating buckets and lugging rebar back and forth. This rebar better be worth the effort!
